THE PLEASURES OF THE TABLE
irmãs de criação
Served at any time of the day, in a dedicated area which looks out on the sea, Casa Acayu’s breakfast is a feast. It starts with natural juices, tropical fruits, homemade breads, cheeses and cold cuts, and procedes through an exquisite menu of hot options, including various tapioca pancakes, Croque Monsieur, poached eggs a La Casa Acayu (served with bread, tomatoes, cheese, basil, ham) and Fried Banana with Curd Cheese and Cinnamon.
Combining Portuguese recipes, local ingredients and Mediterranean influences in unique and delicious beautifully presented dishes, Casa Acayu’s cuisine is a special case. The romantic main hotel’s restaurant, which is next to the pool, serves the vast menu created by the team of the local chef, José André Lourenço, Radiola, exploring fish and seafood and delicate blends of flavors.
A route among many: start with the gentle Ceviche before leaving for the Codfish a La Casa Acayu (roasted steaks, served over mashed cassava and finished with poached egg) or the different Cataplanas prepared in traditional Portuguese copper pans. For dessert, a sinful Cartola (Top Hat) (buffalo cheese, banana and guava). Would you rather take it easy? The hostel has a menu of light options, comprising dishes such as Moroccan Couscous Salad.
Find the ideal accompaniment for your dinner or lunch at the inn’s respectable wine list which comprises a careful selection of red and white Italian, French, Chilean and of course Portuguese wines.
Pool Bar and Beach Service
The pool bar and the beach service are excellent options to whet your appetite without stopping having fun. Try the Octopus Vinaigrette, served with homemade bread, or Fried Shrimp with Corn Flour and Grated Coconut. To tipple, a Milagres (Miracles) (passion fruit, lemon, blackcurrant cream and vodka) or a Tropical Acayu (mango, pineapple, mandarin syrup and vodka).
